You know when you are down low close to the ground , you really appreciate the speed as the ground really flies by. I do agree that a bit better safety warning device would help. Imagine seeing that guy fly by if you were on your bike.

You do not want to alert the idiot motorists. They will do something really stupid and get you killed. Like, stop right in front of you or turn around and follow you and try to pass you.

Ever try a down hill on a skate board? It hits a speed where every adjustment of balance or direction is so dramatic it just starts wobling, and you have to bail befor you go down.

A quick look on the net shows a speed of 63mph on a skateboard!
A top speed of 81mph in street luge.....
I think rollerman up above was hitting 60 odd mph!
