I have been a member since august & just now getting around to this Rolling Eyes , I signed up on this site after my brother became the lucky recipient of a 72 xs . After I spent some time around his bike and started doing some reading on the XS650 , I was constantly looking at online classifieds to see if I could turn up an XS for a reasonable price as a 2nd bike . While I didn't luck up like My bro (Stonecold2491 one this site) .... I did pick up a 79 650 special for a reasonable price that I think will require minimal labor to get road ready. I'm going to be dealing with all the usual stuff ... oil change ..cleaning carbs and tank and the usual points and condenser replacement & I'll hopefully have one that runs as sweet as his does . Its showing a little over 8k & while I have had it running enough to ride it once , It has its hiccups and other odd quirks that let me know I have some work ahead of me . So far though I haven't noticed anything that would indicate anything serious & it has decent power . I have learned alot from these forums and I'm sure that I will constantly be back and digging in the pages of this site when the need arises & perhaps I will be able to help somebody out as well .
Thanks for maintaining and contributing to such a great site guys

Welcome! Good looking bike. I know only a bit but chime in where I can. Lots of smart fellows here. Looks like all she needs is a little elbow grease , a few parts, and some TLC! She'll give you lots of fun in return.
You don't HAVE to be crazy to run into burning buildings, but it HELPS!
On an XS you won't pass yourself on the road everyday. Wink
