I pulled the engine from my '75 last week. I noticed that one of the breather tubes was vented down into a hole in the left side cover. I guess it was done to oil the chain. ((The '75 had the dual outlet breather box. Only one side was vented down there.)
This is a very low mileage bike and the hole appears perfect, not like someone just took a drill bit and bored it out. It's very clean and neat and the hose fits perfectly, etc.
I thought maybe it was stock but, after looking at a few stock XS650B's at Barber last weekend, none of them had the breather routed down there. I've never seen any year done this way.
Is it just a well done home-brew set-up or was this done at the dealer or factory?
