I just recieved a 82+ sporty tank that I won on ebay. I noticed that it has an overflow vent sticking up where the cap screws in and runs through the tank out the bottom. I assume it is so if you leave it in the sun with a full tank it will drain out the bottom instead of all over your tank. The problem is the hole coming out the bottom has been welded or JB welded shut. Is this a problem or do you all run them like this? Should I try to drill it out? Thanks

LOL probably why they sold the tank, that tube replaces the vent in the cap, with it plugged the tank will vapor lock, drill that plug out and enjoy life, with the proper non-vented cap even with a full tank sitting in the sun the fuel won't come out around the cap all over your paint
