I have an 83 Heritage Special and my ignition box works fine (knocks on wood).

I opened up the plastic case and the ckt board looks really good. I mean, it looks brand new!

I was wondering if there is something I could put on there to preserve it and keep all that 'electrical stuff' safe.

I've seen some corrosion prevention sprays for battery terminals that works pretty good.

should I use something like that or just leave well enough alone?

You can use that spray. Or use silicone spray, or tune up grease (dielectric grease) I have even used vegetable oil spray before when I was in a pinch.

Just watch you don't use something conductive. Silicone spray works best, clear, and not really messy to work with later.

I recommend tune up grease for all plugs as well, keeps water out and keeps corrosion down.
