installed the pamco electronic ignition on my 79. easy install, but directions are a little confusing and should be updated. bike seems to run perfect and i'm very happy. i'd recommend it to everyone, especially for the price.

with new points properly adjusted, condensor, etc.... the bike would run well, but was sometimes hard to start and the choke did nothing for the bike.

with pamco started right away after 3 days and the idle was 2200 and with choke 2700ish. lowered my idle to 1200-1300. and it runs great.

why did i have to compensate so much for the idle with stock points ignition and now with pamco a readjust?

Could be the advance rod sticking. Check your timing at idle and then increase the RPM's to 3,200. The advance should go to the max advance mark and then return to the "F" zone when you let the RPM's drop back down.
