i bought a starter motor from a friend for 10 bucks and riped off the front plate that ataches to the engine and had a lug welded into it so no oil leaks through where the gear was originaly comming through.
Before I start pulling the old starter motor out I orderd a new gasket for it.
I wanted to know what do you do with the 4 bolts that hold the starter motor in place, obviously 2 will be used to hold the welded front piece in place. But what do I do with the 2 rear ones do you need to put them back in ( is the engine casing tapped all the way through so it will leak oil ) or can I just leave them out, meaning the engine casing is not taped/drilled all the way through.
Thanx a lot in advance much apreciated
VLADO

Those starter mounting lugs/bolts are pretty rugged , I ran a bike for a long time (unknowingly) with the starter supported by just 2 bolts!

Just leave the extra bolts off- they are blind holes, they don't go all the way through.
Proofread your post before submitting- it's pretty hard to understand what the question is.

They don't "need"to be removed but i did on my last xs project to loose the weight.

Just remove that cover on the other side of the starter.Ther'e will be a couple(?) gears and shafts that can be removed.
