handle bar kill switch in right posistion? is it working correctly? get a wiring diagram and start chasing wires - it really helps if you give year and model also

USE A VOLTMETER OR TEST LAMP TO SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING VOLTAGE AT THE COILS (oops caps) voltage may not be going thur kill switch or not making contact at main switch, from red at main switch it needs to make the brown hot it powers everything else

you could put it one of the starter hole plug blanks from mikeXS to eliminate the starter and remove the solinoid and relay, stripping out the wiring thur the loom all the way to the handlebar switch if you really get serious, no problem, as far as no fire check your plugs and plug wires/caps and check connections to and from CDI unit, you should be getting a firing pulse from the CDI to the coils

Check the "Safety Relay" and related wiring
