Hey all!

y '79 just started the squeaking thing yesterday. As others have reported it is coming from the upper right side. My intake rubber seems ok. I installed a Boyer ignition a while back so that rules out some of the other suggestions. Anyone have any other insight? It is constant at all revs and it is annoying!! Thanks in advance.

xs1961 had this problem and found it to be a leak on the intake manifold. My bike does this "chirping" on and off and I've narrowed it down to my right intake manifold. Yes very annoying noise.
Try turning the engine over using your hand on the kick starter with your ear down low and you may hear the sqeak without the engine noise.............thats how I heard it on mine.

Some have found a loose choke housing to be the cause. Check the 3 mounting screws. Also check the nipple for the vacuum line that sticks in the manifold. Although a pressed in fit, sometimes they come loose when the manifolds get old.
