Ok, perhaps I'm slow, but I'm having a problem with the starter block off kit I just got from Mike's XS.

y thought is that the two plates cinch together on either side of the starter housing, is that correct? because the center section of one of the plates is too thick to allow them to cinch together properly.

I'm probably making this more difficult than it has to be, but anyone have any ideas?

I think I just realized I'm supposed to have the factory seal in place for this to work...... awesome.....

Yep, you got to have the factory seal in place, then it makes sense.
Also note- there is no provision to keep oil from leaking through the bolt threads-seal up the bolt/nut/washers with yamabond or whatever.
