I am going to be mounting a fiberglass cafe seat soon and would like to get some input on mounting. It will probably be upholstered with snaps down the side. I have removed the old crossmember and welded a section of 3/16 flat plate so I have a good flat surface to bolt to. I would think the seat would just be drilled and bolted to the flat plate. I will probably set the seat down on a couple sections of 1" square tubing to adjust the height up off the frame rails. I suppose some bolts could also be glassed or somehow attached to the bottom of the seat. Is the padding glued in place and if so what about future access to the bolts holding the seat in place? Anyone have pics of this process? Anyone one know a good upholster who has worked with motorcycle seats?
