First let me introduce myself. My name is Corbin and I live in the U.S.A. I have been a Yamaha rider for some time now. However this is my first XS650. I am building a full out custom that will be powered by a 79 650 motor. While the frame is being built I want to get the motor ready. I just purchased a 1979 xs 650 that was a retired dirt track bike. I was told from the previous owner that it has an aftermarket cam but he couldnt tell me anything about it. It does have Mikuni carbs on it and the bike runs strong.

Now here's the question. I am looking for more power. This bike is a KICK only. The starter was removed and I want to keep it there.. I am looking for a respectable and dependable big bore kit to do. I have access to all the tools to bore out for the new pistons but what would be a good size to go with. I want to ride the heck out of this bike and not worry about overheating or anything of the sort.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance Smile

Check to see if the head has been ported and if you have a iron leg then a 750 kit should satisfy your hunger for power...............Jack
