Sounds like your wheel man in Hayward is exactly the kind of guy you want! I'm in the process of designing some brackets for my rearsets, after which I'll probably tackle the wheels. Are you going black hubs & rims with stainless spokes as well? I love that look...

As I said the hubs were so corroded I had to powder coat them. And Yes I think the black rims, hubs with SS spokes will look Clean.
Oh Rear Sets, got any diminsions yet? Maybe I can make some for you. I am a Cad/CAM Programmer

sheesh... now you tell me!! I'm by no means a CAD guy, so am doing a mock up of the brackets in ole fashioned cardboard. A friendly internet guy in the midwest offered to help me out with machining! One I have the brackets, I'll use some off-the-shelf pegs and levers to cobble it together.

Well when you get it mocked up I will draw it and program it, and the guy in the midwest can machine it. or I can

Gmaan, if you use a newer fork, you will need the newer disc (different offset) and caliper (different mount) as well. Your old wheel will work, though.

That's not a bad idea, Kyle... I just found out that there's a Harley restorer living around the corner from me who does a lot of welding work. I think it's time to go make a new friend!

Here is the bike in a simple frame build. Fresh paint on frame, triple tree.
Powder coated rims and hubs, new spokes. and more.
So Far I rebuild the wheels
Sand blasted the rust and gunk off all of the parts.
Repainted the frame, swing-arm, triple tree
New head bearings, and bronze swing arm bushings
re-plated most of the bolts and nuts
y son is drooling and decided to help with the financing, and building.

gmaan i see you list a 74 h1 500, my first road bike was a 75 tripple, i didn't know about worn swing arm and head bearings . it tried to kill me twice at about 140 mph. high speed wobble. after the second time i sold it to a fellow that put it in a gocart.

Well I have the fenders, tail light on now. I picked up a set of calipers for a 1980 xs1100, repainted, rebuilt and installed. I need to re-plate the banjo bolts, and get new brake lines, then the front end will be complete. I picked up a motor but have not received it yet. I will post pics soon. This thing is going to be real fun. I am really enjoying this build. I did a gs450 a year ago but it was a drag. I guess I was not jazzed about the GS.
