How about we start a thread showing some cool Cafe' Racer? I could use the inspiration and who doesn't like looking at them anyway?
It doesn't have to be your bike, but it would be nice if you knew the make of the seat, style of the handlebars, any other cool mods that need mentioning, etc.
Who's gonna be first?

Down to frame clean/ repaint- House of Kolor paint
Bearings/ swingarm bushings
Re-wired all extra stuff taken out. (still has easys button )
Fab'd seat to relocate everything to under the seat. Side cover are just on to balance the bike out, and I can put my lunch box there now.
Still need to find fork boots, and pinstrip or goldleaf some finishing touches.
That can wait untill fall/winter

Nice looking bike. It is really well done. The side covers still look good, so I would leave those. Hey Cafe, love the moped.

Good looking bike love the color. I had actually thought for a few minutes of using an old work lunch box as my electronics space. I am somethines sorry I did not build the seat a little different on mine to get all the electronics up there. havins a heck of a time fitting everything.
nice ride
Kyle

I "think" it's a National Cycles flyscreen. I found that bike on 650motorcycles.com, but it was the same pic and no info on the flyscreen.

yes running a lockhart oil cooler via xsjohn. I have yet to see another xs with this paint. I wasn't going to paint the fenders but $12 on ebay leaves no good chrome. So bead blast and paint it is. I have attached a few other shots the bike has no major modifications. I am running the swing arm from an 81 so I gained 2 inches in wheel base. longer shocks to compensate. 18t front 32t rear. torque like crazy. I have the oil cooler. I did have to make a brake pedal(needs placement adjusted) from a cb360 I cut the head off and welded the splines from an old stock pedal I had. the tank is off a cb550t and the seat is from a tx750 1974 I cut down 4 inches rewelded usesed it's stock foam just shaped it to fit the tank and had it covered. I am running the dual disk setup in the front it stops when you need it to. avon rubber. I built the battery box from stainless steel coated it with black rubber undercoating.(stainless was froman old fridge door they are just venered with the stainless)
Cheers Kyle

I BOUGHT THE HEAD PIPES FROM MIKES XS 139 AND I BOUGHT UPSWEEP MUFFLERS FROM CYCLE-X THEY ARE EMGO SO THAY WILL NOT LAST FOREVER BUT $79 FOR THE SET. GOOD CHROME I HAD TO REBAFFLE THEM VERY OPEN PIPES CONNECTICUT IS STRICT ON HOW LOAD YOU GET. THE BAFFLE FOR THE PIPE IS A BOLT IN SO I UNBOLTED I PUT A BOLTED A SCEW AT THE END OF THE INSIDE OF THE BAFFLE. (IT IS A WASHER WELDED ONTO A CAGE. SO I DIRRECTED THE FLOW AROUND TO THE OUTSIDE. I THEN TOOK A BAFFLE FROM AN OLDER HONDA AND WELDED IT INTO THE STOCK BAFFLE. SLIPPED THE BAFFLE BACK IN BOLTED IT UP.
I CAN GET A VIDEO CLIP OF IT RUNNING IF YOU LIKE TO HEAR IT.
I STILL HAVE A LITTLE EXHUST LEAK THE MUFFLER IF BIG FOR THE SIZE OF THE HEAD PIPE. HAD TO USE A REDUCER AND AN EXHUST GASKET I DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT ONE SO I CUT THAT I HAD AND NOW HAVE A SMALL LEAK ON BOTH SIDES HOPE TO GET THAT FIXED THIS WEEK.
CHEERS KYLE

no swing arms are the same the whole production 1970-1983 U.S. models I am not sure about european or other models. You gain 2 inches to the lenght of the wheel base the only draw back is that I am having a hard time fitting a chain guard. I bought the later model chain guard because the two mounting points are on the swing arm but I am having clearance issues with the left side engine cover.
