Alright so I have a 1980 XS650 and I have had the frame raked and purchased +4" fork tubes from Mikes and I (in the excitement of doing a complete rebuild) forgot to even think about the difference in lengths in the tube springs. Any ideas? I mean do I look for longer springs or do I use/make spacers? Mikes doesn't sell longer springs and the stock springs clearly won't fit the tubes. I hope for any and all ideas and input. Thanks in advance. Jim

I've heard of pvc pipe cut to fill the space.

I think a 4" spacer and 4" more oil will work just fine.

You just make a four inch spacer set it on top of the spring the use only the normal volume of oil and replace the top capsjust like stock. Make sure your spacers are the same length or maybe make a pair a half inch shorter an another pair longer to play with front preload.
