Heres a few pics of the bike im workin on. I bought the bike for $1000 in early june of this year. It was silver then and had a few mods done to it, like the clubman bars and a homemade seat. I picked up a cool Peanut tank from my work (www.toadscycle.com) and scrounged through some spare seats we had to find this sweet lil gem with blue flame stitching which i believe is off a Buell. Picked a up a mini chrome speedo from XS direct parts. The rear fender was another find around the shop, still lookin for a front fender that will be suitable. I wanted to use the stock front but it has a few too many dents. Gonna pick up some gaitor fork boots, a couple vintage chrome blinkers, somethin different for the headlight and somethin with a vintage feel for the tail-light. Thinkin of a possible side plate mount too. Any one have any suggestions or comments, I'd be glad to hear em!
Cheers

I like the colors your going with, but I don't think that tank fits with the rest of the bike.I would get a cafe tank and seat that flow together well. That tank would look better on a bobber(save it for your next project). Here's a pic of what I think is one of the nicest xs650's turned into a cafe.I'm not trying to be a dick just giving you my honest opinion. If you go to airtech website you can see a bunch of different tanks and seats.

nice to see another brit style xs.Cool choice of colors but im not sure the seat is going to look right on it . For a front fender why not use the older style xs fender with the stays it looks pretty vintage , for headlight you can pick up some pretty cool vintage lucas ones on e bay , thats what i have on mine

I like what you've done to it. Nice flowing lines from that tank to the seat. It's not the typical cafe style, but I definitely dig it.
Is that still the stock headlight? I'm planning on ditching my gauges for a lower look soon and am considering losing that big factory headlight too.

For the taillight something I've grown to like is something I saw on my buddy's new HD Nightster . The way the brake/tail/signals are incorporated together in the small lights left and right sides.

thats a good question. Ive never really looked. The tire was new when I got the bike. I just assumed that its stock.
I have to pull it off this weekend anyways to change the rear brakes. I'll look then.
As for the tank, its an Evan Wilcox hand made tank complete with internal baffles that was donated for this build.
