Here is a useful little Excel spread sheet that will solve for RPM vs MPH for any combination of gearing, sprockets and tire size.
RPM vs MPH Spreadsheet
Click on the orange cells to reveal a pull down for front sprocket, rear sprocket and rolling distance. Select the values you want from the pull down values. The rest of the spreadsheet is protected.
Rolling distance is used instead of tire circumference or diameter because it is impossible to calculate or measure the tire diameter or circumference accurately.
To obtain rolling distance:
1. Mark the rear tire sidewall and floor.
2. Roll the bike forward exactly one revolution of the rear tire.
3. Mark the floor again.
4. Measure the distance between the two marks on the floor. That is the rolling distance.

I cant get this spread sheet open. When I save and open it or open it ti says page 1 is protected. I can open the other 2 pages but don't see any info. Any help is appreciated.

Cant work that out at all mate...What am I supposed to be looking at on the sheet? What am I missing?

I get a canot acces file message it says it may be read only or open elswar. Does it work for you every time jayel?

I see the sheet but it looks Dutch to me ... Maybe cos its 11.30 & Ive polished off a bottle of wine ...

yes it opens and I can change sprockets and stuff like that
