Does seem to be more hackers than stockers lately......could be because hackers have so many more self created delimas......

One of mines original but Ive robbed so many parts off it to keep the others running I doubt I could be arsed to put it back together unless I needed £2000+ in a hurry...Originals are crappy to ride as they're underpowered IMO

Wait another 20 years and might be worth 1/4 of what a 70's Ducati is worth. most old japanese stuff isn't worth a thing.
Hopfully you arent referring to the ugly as dog s*** fairings on your "right kind"
Hack em up boys.

I love to stir the "S"......just to smell it.....yuck......
And if the discussion turns to my fairing I have an excuse.....Yamaha did not me......I just screw up the unseen things.......guess I'm an introvert...not an extrovert.....no not a pervert....
Come on guys.....have to have a since of humor about these things....well at least they make me laugh all the time.........

$18,000 for a fully restored Z1A 900, $12,000 or more for a restored CB750, $12,000 for a CBX 1100 and depending on the condition and model of the XS, TX 650, some people are getting up to $5,000. A club member has a XS1 and has been offered $25,000 buy some guy in the US. Mind you the owner picked the XS1 up about 7-8 years ago and it was still crated from new. The amount of people chopping and making cafe racers, (Cutting the frames), then original bikes are going to be harder to get. ...............Mind you i am proberbly on drugs and all of the above bikes are some sort of Ducati that cant be ridden because it is raining or getting the motor tuned or reconed from the last ride down to get the milk and paper

Granted, I do change mine around a bit, but I NEVER cut, hack, chop, etc. Anything I change can be put back to stock. Stock is good and worth more when it comes time to sell but let's face it - these old 650s need some tweaks.
I can't agree with OldSchool, though. Any amount of cutting is too much hacking as far as I'm concerned. And an old Ducati is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay you for it, just like any old bike. Even if the "experts" say it's worth 10G's, you still have to find the dumb f*** willing to pay that much.

This sold for $3,500 recently on eBay Australia. 31,000 klm, new head gasket, smoked on start up, ripped seat, couple of dents in the tank and side covers a bit rough, leaking fork seals, front brake caliper needs kit, Not registered or roadworthy certificate. We have to get a roadworthy, (safety), certificate before it can be registered, and that can vary from state to state. In Queensland a single seat rego is $280 and double seat rego another $100, Per year.

unusually the thread went way of track.....what i meant was this...a forum for people who create/build ot restore to original, or yes...near enough to it.....using new parts etc....none of the big mods such as choppers or bobbers interest me, but seeing good things done to the original set up, with maybe so modern refinments..(but no fairings, i mean...who would do that for gods sake..)

"dorks" or "squares" HERE! But I don't care. I was never one to conform and go with the flow and ESPECIALLY less so as I am getting older. I agree with you snake..I'd like to keep mine stock mostly with some modern improvements. Brighter headlight. Improve the braking. Better charging and a hotter ignition. Stuff like that.
Makes me feel good that this one sold on ebay for almost 6 times what I paid for mine.....$2950

i have no problem with stockers at all, i like the standards alot. But i get sick of alot of old trash on here acting worse than the 20 year olds on the local sportbike forum. Ride your stock bike and i'll ride and enjoy my hardtail. Can you live with it?
Jesus H f*** i hope my wife slaps me stupid if i act like the old people on here.
