I have been making seats for awhile now with good results. If your like me and money is tight 200-300 is well spent on a boyer ignition rather than a piece of fiberglass. I admit that omar's seat is nice but I would rather put that cash into more important parts of the bike. You need some cardboard, tape, straightedge, knife, lexan, fiberglass cloth, fiberglass straw, and a band saw,Talent also helps.Take the cardboard and mock up a seat pan and the cowel, use as few pieces as possible.card board can be molded more than you think just take your time and bend in small increments. Use masking tape to hold it all together but dont over do it cause your going to take these pieces apart. After your done and your happy with the design take it apart flatten each piece and trace onto lexan(available at home depot).Oh I forgot you also need a heat gun. cut out the pieces on the bandsaw, waxing the blade with a candle or toilet wax ring helps to cut smoother and neater, then kick back for about an hour with the heat gun slowly bending the lexan into shape, apply epoxy or use the glue they sell for lexan to put pieces together.apply the fiberglass cloth to top and spread out some resin do the same on the bottom but use the straw instead, gelcoat sand prime and paint, for vibaration and cushioning slice some rubber tubing lengthwise and put over frame rails. I use 5 pieces to make a seat 1.pan and top of cowel.and 4 pieces for sides. You can go right over the cardboard if you seal it with some clear laquer or spray paint but it comes out neater and lighter with lexan.
