Can someone post some pics of XS650's with 750 tanks fitted?
Can you also show the two supposedly different styles of XS750 tanks..Think I might've got the wrong one..This one looks too big..hard to tell... Embarassed
It is slightly scalloped though..

Here's a not so clear pic of a Yamaha XS750 Special with the teardrop shaped tank. The XS750 Special tank is the one you don't want because there's no point to having one:

The "standard" tank is theone that's desirable.

Here's a pic of my XS750 tank after I began painting it:

Here's a pic of the tank resting on the bike when it still had the PO's crappy paint job on it:

A side view of the tank after I stripped off the PO's paint, but before I began painting it, obviously:

Best,

Michael

Thanks for the pics mate.
Yeah, knew I didnt want the 'Special' tank. I'm pretty sure Ive got the scalloped tank like yours its just that mine seems so big compared to yours..
Ive owned a few XS750's in the past but this tank just seems so 'humpy '...God I hope its not XS1100.. Crying or Very sad

The tank from the XS750/850 standard is a big tank. Holds 4.5 (US) gallons, compared to the XS650 Special's 3.

Here's a link to a pic of a '78 XS1100 standard. Its tank looks somewhat different from the XS750/850's:

It definitely has a different shape. I like the 750/850 tank's looks better.

Best,

Michael
