some folks have been wondering how to put a pedal on the xs650 kick start and this is how i did mine yesterday.
i drilled out the brass pedal just enough so not to be too weak and ground down the kick arm the same. cut off the stop nob at the end
drill in 1/2 " deep ONLY for the bolt to hold the pedal on
THIS IS NOT A NEW SUPPORT FOR THE KICK
i cut off a bolt w/ cap nut or you can use atr (all thread rod
welded and drop in water, grind if needed
now i have a sweet ass kick

looks good .. i actually bought the same kicker 2 weeks ago. Can you take a side shot of the kicker folded forward? also did you use any kind of teflon tube or anything for the center so it wouldnt rattle or anything?
Just curious.

luke, second ? first.....no, i didn't use anything between the two. what little i drilled the pedal and the little i ground down the the arm left vdl room
for any extra. i also didn't what to interfere with the ability for the pedal to spin freely like i want it to.
btw, i hope these are the pics you're lookin and as you can see at the bottom of the pedal i put a collar there to keep it from catching on the step up. but that might be just because of the way i was grinding on it
