New research is bringing this to us. I already have problems with E10. The main problem probably being I don't have a choice anymore. MO mandated all gas be a 10% blend. So my opinion is biased I'm sure. It doesn't last as long in storage, soaking up ambient humidity and then evporating leaving the water behind. It is hard on aluminum and rubber seals. Yet in their wisdom the legislators will have it no other way.

E20 contains 20% ethanol and 80% gasoline. This fuel is not yet widely used in the United States, but will be mandated by the U.S. state of Minnesota by 2013. Since February 2006, this is the standard ethanol-gasoline mixture sold in Brazil, where concerns with the alcohol supply resulted in a drop in the ethanol percentage, previously at 25%. Flexible-fuel cars are set up to run with gasoline in such concentration range and few will work properly with lower concentrations of ethanol.

Dump a whole can of carb cleaner in the tank. I'm not talking gas additive stuff like STP here. I'm talking SERIOUS carb cleaner. That'll make 'em git up an' snort while it lasts, and it'll take care of the stale gas that sat in there over the winter.
I also use Stabil when I put it to bed in November. I don't know the particulars of how or whether Stabil interacts with ethanol, but I've been using it for years and never had a problem.
Ethanol is old hat here in Iowa. Our legislature jumped on the ethanol bus years ago. I've been running it in cars and motorcycles and lawn mowers for years, never had a problem with it. Can't speak for others, of course, and I've heard plenty of 'em bitch about the stuff.
One thing about ethanol I absolutely do know: It runs better than that crap they call "regular" now.

Looks like ethanol will be a fun challenge......especially at 20% and they probably won't stop there......will have to open the jets somewhat and the thing will run hotter on alcohol and probably produce less power....another catch 22 for cylinder wash and hot summer XS's........and lowering the compression would seem reasonable to remove some heat but that will make it harder to start in cold weather.......may have to use a cylinder warmer.... .....Washington is hosing us again for sure......I will be able to make mine run and then bitch about the good ole days when we had real gas.......just like I do now when I think of regular as 94 octane and high test as 102 octane..........
AS THE TURD WHIRLS............
