where is everyone getting those cool looking velocity stacks with the screens for there bobbers and further more how do they run?

I ran velocity stacks on my old Triumph and it ran lean even with jetting changes to the Amals. The only thing the screen keeps out is the big stuff like stones. Everything else gets sucked into your engine. I have heard of guys using old pantyhose to filter the air better. I never tried that but it will still only keep out so much dirt.. Your engine will eventually suffer the consequences. Do they look cool.............absolutely

George... know what, though? Methinks that a clever and dedicated enough soul might be able to take an appropriately functional filter, such as a K&N, and fab a cosmetic stack around it that would not impede induction. Might provide at least an aesthetic alternative to risky stacks.

Going off topic again, but.................... I was working on a large (read very expensive) stationary turbo diesel motor once. The air cleaner was off so we could choke it if it ran away..........I was holding a considerable amount of paper towel in my hand........As the big girl started to rev out, the towel was sucked out of my hand, through the turbo and in and out of the motor. It bogged down a heap, then thankfuly picked itself up again. Phew, no major damage done! At least till after I left!

suck in one of those Canadian geese and it's flame-out time...... guy over on one of the Honda forums made some out of large diameter copper tubing and flared the ends with a pipe flaring tool slotted the intake side so they would clamp down and powder coated them didn't look to bad

check snowmobile websites. They run around 18.95 a set and are sold by dimensions. I had a set on my project but honestly think there needs to be some turbulence on the intake side so I swapped them for the large KN style pods. I think it runs better with pods...they do look cool..Cant argue that fact...
