Looking good TX, been watching your build on Do The Ton. I like the tail light, was thinking of doing the same setup. Can you give me tips on installing the unit? Email me at cycleryder02 @ aol.com. Still trying to get my seat ironed out but my XS650 is running great. |
It's not hard to wire up at all. Just find the existing taillight wires and go from there. 3 wires is all. Ground, Taillight, and Stop light.

After riding around with out turnsignals, I decided to add a set this weekend.
Got the turnsignals from SportingForLess on ebay
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotor...MEWNX%3AIT
And bought a universal flasher from Custom Dynamics. This is the same unit I use on my VTX running LED turnsignals. 2 wires to hook up and works awesome.
customdynamics.com/tri...OT_Flasher
And here is the end result:
I also designed some decals and had them cut to put on the battery box cover

That bike turned out really nicely! Kudos to you! I may follow your lead on signals once I get around to it. Will those work with the stock flasher, or no?

I tried the stock flasher, but they didn't draw enough to get it to flash. Just buzzed a bit. I would think you could pick up a universal flasher from an auto parts shop and rig that to work though. I have heard of others going that route. I was familiar with this unit and decided to go that way. No real guess work to use it. I did notice however that I think my turn signal switch might have an issue. The left side blinks perfectly...the right side not so much. both lights flash :\ started happening yesterday when I rode to work

I run the same signals and they work great with a $3 flasher from Kragen that Pamco Pete recommended... I love these signals BTW- look and work great, real bright! Bike looks great!
