try a 3 prong cheap variable watage relay they are a generic flasher relay and they seem to work on everything

mine are pushed about an inch through the clamps havent had any problems yet mine is a 80 special I think they look like they have loonger fork legs anyhow I havent expirienced any adverse changes

yeah me neither but the price diference is minimal like 2 $ a disc so I was thinking ill do the friction plates steel plates and thrust bearing that should get me going for a while
